24 Hours: Seattle

May 10, 2013 | Roger

Summer’s quickly approaching and that’s the season to see Alaska. So many Alaska tours jump off from Seattle on their way to Alaska which is a destination unto itself. So a lot of people spend an extra day in the Pacific Northwest, and with so much to see and do, we thought we’d help narrow down the options to the very best that the city has to offer. Read more...

Beach Bums: The 5 Best Beaches in the Caribbean

May 6, 2013 | Roger

Fun in the sun and sea is something that we love here at the office. We dream about getting away on a daily basis… after all, selling vacations all day can do that to a guy. With the weather finally turning warmer, our mind has turned to the beach – and specifically finding the best beaches for a Caribbean vacation. We’ve found five beaches that we think are just outstanding and help make the perfect Caribbean getaway. Read more...

Reaching for the Sky aboard Quantum of the Seas.

May 3, 2013 | Roger

Cruise lines seem to be in a continual game of one-upmanship. Royal Caribbean built an ice-skating rink aboard their vessels, Norwegian Cruise Line countered with a bar made entirely of ice. Carnival added a ropes course, and then Princess built a ship that has a glass-floored walkway that juts out over the ocean. With the latest announcements regarding the Quantum of the Seas, Royal Caribbean is upping the bar yet again. Read more...

Why do cruise ships have Godmothers anyway?

April 12, 2013 | Roger

The announcements have been coming fast and furious with the new ships due out over the next couple years, and some of the biggest announcements dealt with the Godmother of the ship who christens and names the ship at its launch. The New York bound Norwegian Breakaway will have the Rockettes, Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas made a splash at the Oscars by naming Kristen Chenoweth, and this week Princess Cruises found a Princess of their own, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge – the wife of Prince William. But what makes a cruise line name a Godmother anyway? Read more...

Princess Cruises: Singapore Bound

April 10, 2013 | Roger

It’s that time of year when cruise lines start announcing new itineraries and ports of call for the coming year or two, and this week Princess Cruise Line announced that it’s heading to Singapore with the Emerald Princess. Already a popular port of call, Princess will be the first major cruise line to begin using the Asian city-state, well known as a luxury travel destination, as a long-term home port. Read more...

The Rhine: As We See It

March 26, 2013 | Roger

Here are some more snapshots from our staff’s travel history. This history is recent. Last week, in fact. Our agency Vice President, Jeff was in Amsterdam and sailed down the Rhine last week as part of the inaugural for Viking River Cruises’ 10 new longships. That’s not a typo. Viking River Cruises inaugurated 10 ships simultaneously last week. We’ll have more information on the new longships in this spot soon, so keep your eyes peeled. And in the meantime, enjoy our view of the Rhine! Read more...

Taking an Azamazing Adventure

March 22, 2013 | Roger

It’s probably the best kept secret in upscale cruising. But the adventures are just so incredible that we can’t keep the secret any longer. As the European cruise season starts to take shape in the next couple months, one small-ship cruise line is standing out with special values and offers that simply nobody else is offering. Azamara Club Cruises has always had a sterling reputation on service, but in 2013, the focus is on the journey as much as the service with the introduction of Azamazing Evenings. Read more...

March 18, 2013 | Roger

With the Norwegian Breakaway nearing completion, Norwegian Cruise Line is starting to reveal details about the next new ship to be introduced in 2014, the Norwegian Getaway. Based in Miami, this new ship, like the Breakaway before it, will be themed around the city it sails from. And with Miami being the Magic City, the Getaway is bound to be full of magical experiences. Tying the Knot, Love Boat Style

February 14, 2013 | Roger

It’s Valentines Day and our thoughts turn to love, of course. So on this Valentine’s Day, there’s only one cruise line we think about. Princess Cruises, home of the Love Boat. And Princess has pioneered a lot of things when it comes to cruises, not the least of which is expressing love by tying the knot at sea. Read more...

February 12, 2013 | Roger

Holland America’s Half Moon Cay turns 15 this year. This private Bahamanian island is widely considered to be among the best private beach islands that cruise lines use today, and this year Holland America is upping their game by offering guests the biggest private island upgrade yet, a beach villa.
