NCL Archives – Crown Cruise Vacations
Hawaii is one of those must-see destinations. But the price of a week on the islands can give some serious sticker shock! One great way to save some money and see many of the different islands that make up our 50th state is on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of America. This US flagged ship is one of the only ways to cruise the Hawaiian Islands, offering round trip options from Honolulu, and has just gone through a 30 million dollar renovation. The upgrades are pretty substantial, too.
Relaxation. It’s one of the key words that travelers use when they describe an ocean cruise. Norwegian Cruise Line’s spa experience really focus on providing guests a relaxing experience and the Norwegian Breakaway offers a gorgeous, relaxing Mandara Spa experience that’s fantastic for body and soul. The Breakway’s spa is a step forward for cruise vacations, with an enormous two deck footprint aboard ship, and offering some firsts to spas at sea, guaranteed to provide benefits to both body and soul.
Sales happen in the travel industry on a daily basis. So many, so often that even we can’t keep track of all of them. However, this week there are two really great sales from our travel partners that we want to shed some light on, offering great value for travelers this week only. Be it a beach and pool vacation, or a cruise to just about anywhere, there’s a special deal available this week.
Norwegian Cruise Line has been a pioneer in the cruise industry for decades and it has consistently led the trend of open seating for dinner, something which nearly every cruise line has since emulated to one degree or another. The Breakaway, however, takes this a step further with 26 different dining options on board ship, including 15 different premium dining experiences, including two restaurants by Iron Chef star, and New York restauranteur Geoffrey Zarkarian.
The Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest flagship, set sail for the first time from New York City last week, and the ship is truly an evolution in cruising from the Northeast. Truth be told, its not too often that the newest and best ships in the fleet sail from New York, but the Norwegian Breakaway’s Big Apple debut is the continuation of a trend that Celebrity started with the Silhouette and Royal Caribbean is happy to continue with its upcoming Quantum of the Seas. During our short voyage out in the Atlantic Ocean, we had a chance to explore the ship from top to bottom – and one of the most comfortable spots on the ship is the studio complex.
With the Norwegian Breakaway nearing completion, Norwegian Cruise Line is starting to reveal details about the next new ship to be introduced in 2014, the Norwegian Getaway. Based in Miami, this new ship, like the Breakaway before it, will be themed around the city it sails from. And with Miami being the Magic City, the Getaway is bound to be full of magical experiences.
Alright, so we admit it. We love cruises. We love everything about cruises. We especially love new ships. That’s why when a ship finally hits the water, there’s a little extra energy in the office. The countdown to Breakaway is on. Hard to believe that the ship will be sailing in less than two months, especially considering it just hit the water for the first time last week. We’ve got a video here, and we just had to share.
It seems that like every new ship that comes out adds another bell or whistle to the on board experience these days. There’s always something unique about a new ship. A new experience, a new feature – but sometimes it just rings hollow. Sometimes there’s a lot of flash, but no fireworks. The Norwegian Breakaway, which premieres in May of this year will have the flash and the bang, literally.
With the new year, our thoughts are turning to new ships. In particular, the Norwegian Breakaway. Now granted, with offices near New York City, we’re partial because of its location. After all, it isn’t too often that brand new ships make New York City their homeport – but there are some truly unique features that make the Breakaway worth sailing on. We’ve come up with three great ones that we thought we’d share today.
Norwegian Cruise Line hasn’t even launched the New York themed Norwegian Breakaway on the high seas yet, but they can’t seem to keep a lid on the excitement that they’re building from the Norwegian Getaway. Like the Breakaway, the Getaway is going to be themed around its homeport which for this ship is Miami, and they’ve chosen Miami artist Dan “LEBO” LeBatard to design the hull art for the ship, scheduled to launch in early 2014.
