Carnival’s Tasty Tiramisu
March 14, 2014 | HeidiNo wonder I love tiramisu. I knew it had coffee, alcohol and ladyfinger cookies in its delicious blend. But until I attended a cooking class aboard the Carnival Magic,I wasn’t sure of the other ingredients. Every one of them is yummy.
After watching the instructor and tasting the scrumptious results, I’m going to try to the recipe when I get home. Might be dangerous now that I know how to make it.
Carnival’s Unexpected Amenities
January 30, 2014 | HeidiSounds silly but whenever I check into a Carnival cruise ship, I’m always curious to see what little freebies they have put in my cabin bathroom.
An amenity basket in every cabin is filled with an odd assortment of toiletries, free samples and money-saving coupons. One time my daughter Kelly and I got men’s aftershave, some chocolate candy, razors and bottles of sunscreen.
Ship on a Stick
January 15, 2014 | HeidiThe first person eliminated in the musical chairs competition aboard the Carnival Magic won a consolation prize of a miniature model of the ship.
The last man standing in the musical chairs also got an award – a miniature model of the ship.
“Everyone wins on the Carnival Magic,” cruise director James Dunn explained. “This is a wonderful prize … We call it a ‘Ship on a Stick.’”
An American Feast on the Carnival Glory
December 4, 2013 | RogerCarnival Cruise Line has seen a lot of additions and changes over the last couple years. New sports bars, craft beer on ship, a Guy Fieri signature burger place on many ships… but the main dining rooms could be seeing a major upgrade soon.
Key-card-activated electricity system is a useful touch
November 4, 2013 | HeidiIt’s just a small thing but it shows Carnival Cruise Lines’ commitment to conserving energy and helping passengers have a more enjoyable cruise.
When my daughter Kelly and I first checked into our cabin on the Carnival Breeze, we saw attendants in the hallway helping cruisers figure out how to turn on the electricity in their rooms.

After a challenging year, for one of the world’s largest cruise lines, Carnival decided to simplify and streamline the pricing process. It isn’t without precedent.
Special Effects at Sea
August 30, 2013 | HeidiButterflies flutter before our noses. Bubbles dance through the air. Our seats jerk and tilt as we stop at the edge of an abyss. And a dinosaur blow snot in our faces.
A dinosaur? Yep, in Thrill Theater all kinds of adventures await through the magic of 3-D technology. The new “multidimensional” theater is now drawing eager viewers on the Carnival Breeze.
The Funniest Brunch Ever
August 20, 2013 | HeidiThe voice of George Lopez brings chuckles to our Punchliner Brunch on the new Carnival Breeze. Take your time making menu choices and enjoy the wide variety, the comedian advises.
“When I was a kid, my grandma only gave me two choices – eat or don’t eat,” George says.
Extra Donkey Sauce: The Best Burger at Sea
August 19, 2013 | HeidiThe tantalizing sizzle of hamburgers frying on a griddle sure caught my attention. I don’t even like hamburgers but I had to try one of these tempting beef sandwiches.
After all, this is the famous Guy’s Burger Joint on the new Carnival Breeze. Created in partnership with Food Network’s spiky-haired Guy Fieri, this poolside restaurant is hopping from noon to 6 p.m. each day.
The Singing Maitre D’
July 31, 2013 | HeidiWhen I first heard the smooth sounds of “Nice n’ Easy” filling the dining room aboard the Carnival Breeze, I thought what a nice treat to enjoy an old recording by Frank Sinatra.
Imagine my surprise to learn that “Ol’ Blue Eyes” wasn’t the one doing the singing. That amazing voice was coming from our maitre d’.
