Beach Bums: The 5 Best Beaches in the Caribbean

Beach Bums: The 5 Best Beaches in the Caribbean

Fun in the sun and sea is something that we love here at the office. We dream about getting away on a daily basis… after all, selling vacations all day can do that to a guy. With the weather finally turning warmer, our mind has turned to the beach – and specifically finding the best beaches for a Caribbean vacation. We’ve found five beaches that we think are just outstanding and help make the perfect Caribbean getaway.

1. St Thomas – Little Magen’s Beach

Some of the best sunbathing in the Caribbean is at St. Thomas, and this little secluded beach, just off the main beach of Magen’s Bay is easily up on that list. Hard to get to, and out of the way, Little Magen’s offers seclusion and privacy that virtually no other beach around can offer. It’s also the only stretch of beach in this island that could be considered clothing optional. (Although nude sunbathing is prohibited throughout the island, its tolerated on Little Magen’s.) With that kind of knowledge and that kind of privacy, its no wonder President Bill Clinton is said to consider it one of his favorite beaches.

It might be an open secret, but its still pretty secluded and definitely off the beaten path for most cruisers – a perfect place to get away and sunbathe for the day. We also understand that the snorkeling off the beach is pretty excellent too.

2. Jamaica – Negril’s “7 Mile Beach”

The greatest part about Negril, besides the Irie island vibes, is the fact that the beach stretches nearly as far as the eye can see. The pristine beach that makes Negril an amazing resort destination for guests is just about perfect as far as we can tell. Surrounded by protected wetlands and forest, coral reefs just off the shore provide an excellent snorkeling experience. It truly is seven miles of heaven. Never mind that the 7 mile beach is really only about four miles long. We won’t tell if you won’t.

3. ArubaEagle Beach

It’s kind of hard to just pick one beach in a place like Aruba. A desert isle in the Caribbean whose biggest offering to the world, besides an amazing place to relax, is Aloe, is full of great places to relax and catch some surf and sun. But Eagle Beach, conveniently located to most resorts on the island, but in the low rise section of the island, which means there are no skyscraper shadows to keep a vacationer separated from their tan.

4. Grand Cayman – Smith’s Cove

This little oasis is the spot where the people who work on the Cayman’s famous 7 mile beach go to relax. It’s a bit of a secret, and a great way to avoid the crowds and just experience the beaches of Grand Cayman the way it was meant to be experienced. The sunsets are especially incredible here.

5. Turks and Caicos – Grace Bay

One of the most celebrated beaches in the Caribbean, Grace Bay is the spot that makes Turks and Caicos a five star destination. Often ranked one of the world’s best beach destinations (it won that honor in 2011 with Trip Advisor), the snorkeling is a strong highlight with crystal blue waters and amazingly gorgeous white sand. The five mile beach is the one that nearly anyone pictures when thinking about that perfect beach getaway.

These are just a few of the amazing beaches in the Caribbean, but the truth is that when the sand is soft and the ocean is warm, it’s pretty hard to have a bad day at the beach. What’s your favorite beach? Share with us here and let us know!
