Tying the Knot, Love Boat Style
It’s Valentines Day and our thoughts turn to love, of course. So on this Valentine’s Day, there’s only one cruise line we think about. Princess Cruises, home of the Love Boat. And Princess has pioneered a lot of things when it comes to cruises, not the least of which is expressing love by tying the knot at sea.
Princess was one of the first cruise lines to really explore offering weddings at sea, by building a wedding chapel into many of their ships, and they are still one of the few cruise lines that allow guests to be married legally while at sea. That’s not an inexpensive way to get married, but these days, we aren’t sure that there is such a thing as a cheap wedding. Princess does offer three different types of wedding packages.
Cruising can be an inexpensive way to have a destination wedding, and that can include having the ceremony in port. With Princess’ “Tie The Knot” program, this can be arranged. Also available are options to get married on the ship, while in port, to allow guests to enjoy the ceremony and the reception without shelling out to be part of the honeymoon either.
And of course, Princess offers the weddings at sea. But, if guests aren’t able to make it on the cruise to wish the newlyweds well, it can still be done online, thanks to Princess’ live wedding cams that are on their website. The cameras show new images of what’s happening in all of the wedding chapels every few minutes.
Today, we are sure those cameras are busy. Of course, this is because love is in the air today, and we wish you a happy Valentines Day, no matter where you choose to celebrate it.
