Here Comes the Anthem!
November 25, 2013 | RogerWe like to look ahead in the office, and when it comes to ship announcements – we sometimes like to look far ahead. Royal Caribbean’s last big unveiling was three years ago with the Allure of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world, and we’re about a year away from Quantum of the Seas, the largest ship to ever be homeported in the New York area. But last week, more plans for the Anthem of the Seas – scheduled to launch sometime in 2015, about 18 months away.
The Magic Is Worth The Wait
October 18, 2013 | RogerThere are pluses and minuses to being the first on a cruise ship, either at its introduction or its return after a major refurbishment. It’s always nice to be the first to see, touch and play with the new features and amenities on the ship. It’s nice to be the first to sleep on the new bed, enjoy the room’s shower. But it also means running a risk that the trip may never even happen. Or, possibly even worse, some features may not yet be open or available for use.
The Diva Is Coming!
September 27, 2013 | RogerAny fan of the Real Housewives of Miami can tell you, there is plenty of drama in South Florida. Well, those girls need to make room for a new diva, because the MSC Divina is headed to Miami this fall, and she is something unlike what we’ve seen out of the Port of Miami before. The Divina, or “Diva” as she is affectionately referred to as, will be MSC’s first year round Caribbean dedicated ship, homeporting out of Miami beginning in November.
South Beach at 17 degrees
September 23, 2013 | RogerMiami has always been known for its warm weather, with summer like temperatures all year long. Norwegian Cruise Line is set to change that perception however, with its newest cruise ship, the Norwegian Getaway, set to sail from the Magic City this February. Like its sister, the Norwegian Breakaway, and fleet mate, Norwegian Epic, the Getaway will be outfitted with a bar that’s made entirely out of ice.
Coming Soon: Regent Seven Seas Explorer
July 10, 2013 | RogerJust announced today, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, one of the premier luxury cruise lines will be introducing its first new ship in a decade in 2016! This is pretty exciting news for the three ship fleet that has ushered in the age of the all-inclusive luxury cruise.
Reaching for the Sky aboard Quantum of the Seas.
May 3, 2013 | RogerCruise lines seem to be in a continual game of one-upmanship. Royal Caribbean built an ice-skating rink aboard their vessels, Norwegian Cruise Line countered with a bar made entirely of ice. Carnival added a ropes course, and then Princess built a ship that has a glass-floored walkway that juts out over the ocean. With the latest announcements regarding the Quantum of the Seas, Royal Caribbean is upping the bar yet again.
Three Reasons to Breakaway This Year
January 2, 2013 | RogerWith the new year, our thoughts are turning to new ships. In particular, the Norwegian Breakaway. Now granted, with offices near New York City, we’re partial because of its location. After all, it isn’t too often that brand new ships make New York City their homeport – but there are some truly unique features that make the Breakaway worth sailing on. We’ve come up with three great ones that we thought we’d share today.
Another Oasis On The Horizon
December 31, 2012 | RogerThe rumors are true, and Royal Caribbean made it official. Look for another Oasis of the Seas type ship to hit the waters in 2016. The cruise line made the announcement last week in St. Nazaire, France where the ship will be built. It’s going to be an exciting few years for the cruise line too, as the list of new ships for Royal Caribbean seems to be growing pretty rapidly!
Viking River Cruises: Even More New Ships!
December 5, 2012 | RogerViking River Cruises has been making a lot of changes and enhancements in recent years, and within the next 12 months, nearly a dozen new longships are to be put into service. Between this year and next, Viking will have introduced 16 new ships to the water. That’s right – 16! Some of the biggest cruise lines don’t even have 16 ships!
Coming Soon: More New Ships!
October 26, 2012 | RogerIt has been a busy week for corporate offices across the cruise industry this week. Earlier this week, Norwegian Cruise Line announced its plans to build another Norwegian Breakaway type-ship in the near future.
