Princess Cruises: Singapore Bound

It’s that time of year when cruise lines start announcing new itineraries and ports of call for the coming year or two, and this week Princess Cruise Line announced that it’s heading to Singapore with the Emerald Princess. Already a popular port of call, Princess will be the first major cruise line to begin using the Asian city-state, well known as a luxury travel destination, as a long-term home port.

The ship, which will be heading to the far east after a season based in Europe will feature some off the beaten path destinations on its cruises from Singapore ranging from three to 11 days in length. Look for stops in stand-out Asian ports like Ho Chi Minh City, and Bangkok, and also some hidden treasures where most cruise ships don’t stop like Ko Samui, Penang and Langkawi.

This will be the Princess product that guests have come to know and love, but look for some changes in service to appeal to a more Asian consumer base. With Asia becoming a busier and busier cruise market, Princess will look to appeal to that sensibility without sacrificing the hallmarks of quality that Princess has strived for over the last forty years.

Exact itineraries haven’t been announced yet, but keep an eye out for some great deals to great locations! In the meantime, whet your appetite with a video tour of the Emerald Princess.
