Cruises are great vacations for families, this is something that pretty much everyone can agree on. But the question is what cruise line is best for families? The truth is that there are a lot of choices out there for this, and pretty much every major cruise line has something great that the family can agree on, but according to one influential travel website, one cruise line – Royal Caribbean – stands out.

One of the biggest websites around for cruising, Cruise Critic, has announced their Editors’ Picks for the best in the industry for 2012, and among all the other awards, Royal Caribbean came out on top for families. Taking a quick look at the cruise line’s offerings, its not hard to understand why. Between all the fun, family friendly stuff that can be done on the ship (think Flowrider surfing, rock climbing walls, even zip lining), the amazing Carousels on the boardwalks of the Oasis class ships and an out of this world kids program, its pretty easy to see why the ships rate so well with families. On selected ships, Royal Caribbean offers a Dreamworks experience where you can meet the characters from great movies like Madagascar, and even have meals with them. Also, Dreamworks themed entertainment is available and movies shown throughout the cruises. These experiences are available on Oasis, Allure, Freedom, Liberty and Voyager of the Seas.
