New ‘Hot Springs & Eternal Ice’ cruise for 2023

New ‘Hot Springs & Eternal Ice’ cruise for 2023
Jackie Sheckler Finch

Looking for an exciting cruise for 2023? Iceland ProCruises has announced a brand-new itinerary for “Hot Springs & Eternal Ice.” Set for summer 2023, the cruise will include awesome ports in both Iceland and Greenland.

Carried out aboard the 164-passenger Seaventure, the 21-day voyage will depart Reykjavik on July 29 and end in Kangerlussauq on August 18, followed by a charter flight back to Iceland and onward connections back home.

Launched in 1990 with renovations in 2019, the Seaventure is incredibly agile and maneuverable which makes it small enough to enter fjords and bays too shallow for larger vessels. The ship allows for delightful shore excursions to experience the real locals and their Icelandic way of life.

In addition, Seaventure has been assigned the highest ice class for passenger ships. A greater density of steel plates in the hull and a massive stem are just two of the elements that allow the expedition ship to guide safely through waters.

From the volcanos, geysers, hot springs and lava fields of Iceland to the majestic icebergs, deep blue fjords and unique Inuit culture of Greenland, this unforgettable adventure combines the best of both North Atlantic islands.

After circumnavigating Iceland – with stops at Snaefellsdnes Peninsula, the Westfijords, Grimsey Island and Husavik (“Iceland’s Whale-Watching Capital) – the cruise crosses the Denmark Strait to Greenland and stops at Ammassalik Island on the east coast, historic Qaqortoq in the south, capital city Nuuk on the west coast and the UNESCO   World Heritage designated Ilulissat Ice Fjord.
