ABOARD THE CARNIVAL SENSATION –  Do you like green eggs and ham? How about moose juice or goose juice?

Chances are your children like them. And youngsters know exactly where such creative food came from – Dr. Seuss.

Now children of all ages can enjoy an exciting partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises and Carnival Cruise Lines.

“It is fun to have fun but you have to know how,” said Cat in the Hat in the iconic Dr. Seuss book.

For the funnest fun of all, the Carnival Sensation offers several Seuss programs. On one of our days at sea, cruisers are invited to join Dr. Seuss characters for a parade from the ship’s plaza to Fantasia Theater.

In the theater, children can take a seat on the stage for a free Seuss-A-Palooza Story Time to hear cruise director Orlando read “Horton Hears a Who.” With his Seuss hat atop his head, Orlando is an energetic leader, capturing the attention of his young audience. In fact, Orlando seems to have endless energy. I’ve seen him bouncing around the ship from early morning until late night.

A special Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast is offered one morning in the dining room for $5. It’s a good chance to taste that weird food combination.

At other times during the voyage, children and families can meet and interact with favorite Dr. Seuss characters and participate in special photo opportunities featuring colorful and zany Dr. Seuss-inspired artwork.

The author, whose real name was Theodor “Ted” Seuss Geisel, died in 1991 at the age of 87. It’s wonderful to see his work living on and being enjoyed by younger generations on the Carnival Sensation.
