Sophisticated Cruise Specialists at Crown Cruise Vacations Provide Exclusive Offers, Exceptional Value & Unparalleled Service

DETROIT (June 24, 2014) – With all the great options for Caribbean cruising, it can be confusing to pick which one is right for you. Crown Cruise Vacations sophisticated cruise experts can help you decide which Caribbean destination you should visit: Eastern, Western or Southern, according to Ross Spalding, President-Crown Cruise Vacations.

Eastern Caribbean:

Ports: The U.S. Virgin Islands (St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix), St. Martin (French and Dutch sides), British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico,  Grand Turk and the Bahamas are some of the stops included in Eastern itineraries.

The Basics: If you like shopping, many of the islands offer duty-free goods, along with open-air markets. The Eastern Caribbean also offers plenty for nature lovers in terms of hiking, beaches and horseback riding. It is known for its mountainous terrain and glorious beaches.

Since Eastern Caribbean islands are fairly close to the USA, this is very popular itinerary for cruise ships. Four and 5-night cruises usually only visit the Bahamas, while longer cruises add ports in other Eastern Caribbean islands.

Western Caribbean:

Ports: A few of the main stops on Western Caribbean cruises include Cozumel, Honduras, Belize, Grand Cayman, Jamaica and several other points on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.

The Basics: The Western Caribbean is rich in history. One of the islands, Belize, has a higher concentration of Mayan sites than any other country in Central America. From the ruins to the beautiful beaches there is something for everyone. There is generally more time at sea as well because islands are further apart which gives you more time to relax.

A Western Caribbean cruise offers something for everyone. History buffs will enjoy Belize’s Mayan sites and some of Mexico’s Mayan ruins. Grand Cayman and Jamaica offer plenty of opportunities for watersports enthusiasts and shopping.

Southern Caribbean:

Ports: Southern Caribbean cruises explore the lower part of the Caribbean, including  the “ABC” islands: Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. They may also visit Barbados, St. Lucia, Guadalupe and Grenada.

The Basics: One of the least crowded parts of the Caribbean, the southern islands offer more remote beaches. The ABC islands are also known for having some of the best locations for snorkeling and scuba diving in the world as well. Each island caters to the needs of the different levels of divers. Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao are well suited for beginners while St. Lucia and Guadalupe are ideal for more advanced divers.

A Southern Caribbean cruise includes some of the Caribbean’s most gorgeous beaches and colorful islands. This region also offers many natural wonders, including a volcano, mountains, rain forests, beaches, waterfalls and rivers.
