Princess Cruises offers new “Circle Pacific Adventure” cruise in 2027
December 19, 2024 | crownblogCourtesy Princess Cruises / Cruise Industry News: Princess Cruises is offering a new “Circle Pacific Adventure” cruise in 2027 as part of its recently announced 2026-27 deployment in Australia.
Sailing onboard the Grand Princess, the 79-night cruise will depart from three homeports: Brisbane, Sydney, and Auckland. Starting in June 2027, the itinerary will cover over 23,600 nautical miles, crossing the Equator and the International Date Line twice.

Viking names newest ocean ship Viking Vela and godmother
December 10, 2024 | Jackie Sheckler FinchViking has now named its newest ocean ship and the ship’s ceremonial godmother. The traditional ceremony for Viking Vela was hosted at shipbuilder Fincantieri in Trieste, Italy.
Serving as ceremonial godmother of the Viking Vela is Ivana Elice, Vice President and Project Manager of the Fincantieri Cruise Business Unit, who has overseen the design and engineering of Viking’s ocean ships for 12 years.

This voyage replaces the previously announced 2026 World Cruise to bypass the Red Sea and surrounding region.

November 26, 2024 | Jackie Sheckler FinchThe new Star Seeker yacht has now touched water for the first time. The First Star Class new build for small ship line Windstar Cruises, Star Seeker was floated out of the building dock at the WestSEA Shipyard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal.
“Seeing a ship come together and be at the point where she leaves dry dock for the sea is a memorable milestone in the life of a new build project,” John Gunner, Windstar’s vice president of Expansion Projects, said in a press release.

American Legend sets sail from Florida on inaugural cruise
November 25, 2024 | Jackie Sheckler FinchThe new American Legend cruise ship set sail today on its inaugural cruise. The American Cruise Lines’ small ship is sailing roundtrip from St. Petersburg, Florida, on an “8-Day Florida Gulf Coast and Keys” itinerary.
American Legend will be officially christened on Wednesday, Nov. 27, when the ship is docked at Mallory Square in Key West. The ceremony will be held on board with the ship’s godmother, Key West Mayor DeeDee Henriquez, plus cruise guests and American Cruise Lines executives.
