And what a cruise it was. Our 12-day Gold Rush Trails voyage went from Los Angeles to Vancouver with ever-changing sights. My brother Joe lives in Colorado and I live in Indiana so we met up at the Los Angeles airport and spent a restful night at the lovely and quiet Fairmount Century Hotel in Los Angeles before boarding the ship the next morning.

Princess Cruises offers new “Circle Pacific Adventure” cruise in 2027

Sailing onboard the Grand Princess, the 79-night cruise will depart from three homeports: Brisbane, Sydney, and Auckland. Starting in June 2027, the itinerary will cover over 23,600 nautical miles, crossing the Equator and the International Date Line twice.

Viking names newest ocean ship Viking Vela and godmother
December 10, 2024 | Jackie Sheckler FinchViking has now named its newest ocean ship and the ship’s ceremonial godmother. The traditional ceremony for Viking Vela was hosted at shipbuilder Fincantieri in Trieste, Italy.
Serving as ceremonial godmother of the Viking Vela is Ivana Elice, Vice President and Project Manager of the Fincantieri Cruise Business Unit, who has overseen the design and engineering of Viking’s ocean ships for 12 years.
