Any fan of the Real Housewives of Miami can tell you, there is plenty of drama in South Florida. Well, those girls need to make room for a new diva, because the MSC Divina is headed to Miami this fall, and she is something unlike what we’ve seen out of the Port of Miami before. The Divina, or “Diva” as she is affectionately referred to as, will be MSC’s first year round Caribbean dedicated ship, homeporting out of Miami beginning in November.

Elegance is the theme around the Diva, with an interior inspired by Sophia Loren, the ship’s Godmother. The two Swarovski crystal staircases in the atrium make that pretty clear. In preparation for her US debut, there have been a number of announced upgrades to the ship too. A partnership with New York’s famous Eataly restaurant, will bring the concept of enjoying and learning about Italian food to the sea with an Eataly Steakhouse aboard the ship. There’s also a second fine dining restaurant aboard Ristorante Italia, limited to just 24 seats and taking its cues from the Slow Food movement which seeks people to have a better appreciation of the time, effort and joy that a well cooked meal creates.

Other innovations abound too, including an incorporation of the Hydrorider fitness craze. Unfamiliar with the concept? Picture a spin class in a pool, and you get the idea. It’s the first of its kind at sea, and it will only be aboard the MSC Divina. Also, look for a Smurfs themed children’s program and a special adults-only pool and lounge area called Top 18, where spa services are available pool side in a very exclusive and elegant atmosphere.

Exclusive and elegant. Words heard again and again when describing this ship full of the best of Italian cruising. The Divina starts sailing the Caribbean from Miami this November, and pricing is incredibly low, with balconies available for under $600 per person in February.
